Amy Schumer to Film HBO Special Directed by Chris Rock

Amy Schumer continues to take over the world!

On Thursday, the comedian -- whose show Inside Amy Schumeris pretty much winning the whole viral video thing right now -- announced she will be filming an HBO special later this month.

HBO programming president Michael Lombardo said on Thursday that the special would tape at the historic Apollo Theater on May 29 and will air later this year. And they've brought on someone special to direct.

"Amy is one of the most inspired comics working today, and we hope her first HBO special marks the start of a long and beautiful relationship," Lombardo said in a statement. "This event is even more special because our good friend, the incredibly talented Chris Rock, is directing."

Schumer posted about the news on Instagram.

"I am filming a special for @HBO at the Apollo May 29th directed by Chris Rock. #roadmanager will be there lookin like this," she captioned the photo of herself and her younger sister (and manager) as little kids, tagging it #tbt.
