Amy Ryan is joining the cast of In Treatment for the HBO drama's third season.
The 40-year-old actress has scheduled some couch time as the new therapist of Dr. Paul Weston (Gabriel Byrne), according to Deadline, which first reported the news. Ryan steps in for Dianne Wiest, who left the series after playing Weston's therapist and mentor for two seasons.
In Treatment renewed for a third season
The five-times-a-week series focuses on Weston's work as a therapist and his various patients, in addition to his own weekly sessions.
An Oscar nominee for her performance in Gone Baby Gone, Ryan previously appeared on another HBO drama, The Wire, in 2003. She most recently held a recurring role on The Office and starred in the thriller Green Zone.
