He's been released on bail

He is scheduled to appear in Knox County District Court on Feb. 22.

McLean married Patrisha, a photographer, in 1987, and they have two children. In 2015, McLean made $1.2 million by selling a 16-page manuscript with the original lyrics to his classic song. "I'm going to be 70 this year," McLean told Rolling Stone at the time. "I have two children and a wife, and none of them seem to have the mercantile instinct. I want to get the best deal that I can for them. It's time."
McLean's reps had not released a statement at the time of publishing.
