On Tuesday, FX released a new teaser for American Horror Story: Apocalypse, the upcoming eighth season of Ryan Murphy's horror anthology, and it's got everything: burning pentagrams, scorpions popping out of a fig and fighting each other, a demon embryo attached to a blackened heart that bursts into flames, mushroom clouds and skulls. Lots and lots of skulls. This show is good at unnerving imagery.
Apocalypse stars Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd and Adina Porter and will literally be about the apocalypse, Book of Revelations-style. The demon baby in this teaser and the previously released key art seems like it might be the antichrist. The season a crossover between previous seasons Murder Houseand Coven, with Paulson playing her characters from those two seasons as well as a new character named Venable.
American Horror Story: Apocalypse premieres Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 10/9c on FX.
