The sad story of Amanda Bynes continued Friday as the former Nickelodeon star was placed in an involuntary psychiatric hold by her parents, TMZ reports. Bynes apparently thought a car service was sent to pick her up and take her to a hotel to meet her parents, but was instead greeted by her lawyer and some doctors who took her to a Pasadena hospital. She will be held for a minimum of 72 hours.

She will be held for a minimum of 72 hours.
These events occurred after Bynes accused her father Rick of sexually abusing her as a child and then later retracted the claims after her mother Lynn publicly stated that Bynes' allegations were a result of her troubled mental state.
It all started Friday morning when Bynes tweeted, "My dad was verbally and physically abuse (sic) to me as a child. He called me ugly as a child and then asked me if I wanted to have sex with him and I did not know how to respond and I said no and then I was forced to live with my dad which was a total nightmare."

She went on to say that Rick fondled himself in front of her several times, that she was embarrassed that her mother did nothing about it, and that she was going to get a restraining order against her father. The tweets have since been deleted.
Lynn issued a statement to E! Online denying the allegations. "These accusations are absolutely horrible and could not be further from the truth! These allegations stem from Amanda's mental state at the moment. They have no basis in reality. It saddens me beyond belief that my husband's character could be slandered in such a way."

Following her mother's statement, Bynes went to Twitter again and posted an odd explanation for her earlier online rant against her father:
My dad never did any of those things The microchip in my brain made me say those things but he's the one that ordered them to microchip me

Since 2012, Bynes has been involved in a slew of legal issues, most recently picking up her second DUI last month.
