All My Children creator Agnes Nixon will reprise her role as Agnes Eckhart on the show, ABC announced Monday.
Nixon is just the latest in a long line of past cast members dropping by the show once more before it leaves ABC in September. Returning alumni include: Carol Burnett, Eva LaRue, Cady McClain, Thorsten Kaye, Josh Duhamel (who could be seen on the show last week), Jennifer Bassey, Kate Collins and Melissa Claire Egan (all three of whom appeared in July).
Carol Burnett returning to All My Children
Nixon created the role of Eckhart in 2005 in celebration of the show's 35th anniversary. Eckhart is a board member of the Pine Valley Hospital — where she'll be admitted, as the story goes this time.
Are All My Children and One Life to Live moving to cable?
Nixon's first episode will air Wednesday, Aug. 31 at 1/12c on ABC.
