Yousef is a successful cook, the son of immigrants, raised in Italy. After a very long wait he manages to obtain Italian citizenship, a few days after the attack in Macerata. Yousef's certainties begin to falter, leading him to a real identity crisis. When he is faced with a choice that until recently would have been obvious, he will no longer know what to do.
