The Johnson family consists of father and mother, and their three teenage offspring, Mary, Bill and George. Three items occur in the house, each one which probably happens to many families and which, in this case, leads to discussions for the viewer on how the situation could have been handled and which option is the best for each viewer. The first situation concerns Mary, over the telephone, being asked out on a date by Frank, who wants to take her to an evening dance by the lake, with father and mother not allowing her to go in still being too young. Four options on what Mary could do are provided. The second situation is at the end of the family dinner and mother asking for help with the dishes, each family member coming up with a different answer to her request even though nothing that is stated by any was urgent if they declined to help. The third situation has Bill coming home two hours later than his assigned curfew, with father knowing exactly what time Bill arrived home and there being an agreed to consequence for breaking curfew. Which of three provided options should Bill do?
