Woman Hater Reviews

Misogynist Granger meets misanthrope Feuillere with predictable results in this lighthearted farce. French film star Feuillere emulates Greta Garbo, announcing that she wishes only to be alone. Disbelieving her public pronouncement, the titled Granger sets out to prove that all women are alike. He offers her the haven of his immense estate in the countryside, hoping to find her desire for solitude a sham. Posing as the real estate agent of his own property, he encounters Feuillere frequently, learning that her reclusive leanings are real. In the course of time, Feuillere discovers Granger's deception and decides to teach him a lesson, which ends with their marriage. Released in England at 105 minutes, the picture was cut to a more satisfactory length for its US screenings.
