A parody of the tale of Moses, featuring his apparent half-brother, brother-in-law, and accidental duplicate Herschel. The boys are born around the same time, their lives follow parallel paths, and they accidentally have near-meetings several times. When God orders Moses to return to Egypt and to rescue his people, Herschel is standing nearby and thinks that God is talking to him. Herschel tries to obey God's command, but he struggles in vain while Moses is always one step ahead of him. Eventually Herschel realizes that his entire life story is just a footnote in history, and he complains to God that he wants to be remembered. Several thousand years later, God arranges for the Book of Herschel to be discovered by two amateur archaeologists. After the duo read the ancient scroll, the scroll scatters into dust. God has ensured that two people will remember his failed prophet, but also that Herschel's biography will be largely lost to the sands of time. God laughs for a while at being able to play another prank on the long-dead Herschel, just as he enjoyed playing pranks on him while Herschel was alive.
