When We Were Boys

The two old cronies who make their bow to an audience in this film are evidently engaged in a very animated discussion of this kind, and each refreshes the other's memory regarding the wonderful adventures of by-gone times, as they enjoy their "post-prandial" cigar, the scene showing as perfect a piece of animated photography as has ever been projected through a moving picture apparatus. While out two old friends discuss matters together, the scene changes and goes back to boyhood days, and two little fellows are seen robbing a farmer's orchard, and their subsequent chase and capture by the farmer's bulldog. Once more the old chappies put their heads together and recall other boyish pranks. The young imps are seen playing a practical joke of a very painful nature on their elder brother, for which they receive a well deserved thrashing. A very cunning happening then shows how the boys indulged their natural appetite for pie without suffering any disagreeable consequences. Grandma appears and sets out several newly baked pies to cool, while she enjoys her afternoon siesta. The boys take advantage of the situation to consume pie to their hearts' content, and then inveigle a passing tramp and persuade him that it would be easy to take "just one pie." While Weary William is enjoying the succulent pastry the boys wake up their grandma and point out the poor hobo as the one who has done it all and converted himself into a walking pie factory. Grandma promptly turns the dog loose, and the last seen of the tramp is a streak along the dusty road. Once more the old gentlemen reminding each other of scenes of their youth, and this time a negro sandwich man, or billboard carrier, is their victim. A quick change in the lettering on his board (unknown to him) makes an A. P. A. announcement which excites the wrath of the Irish neighborhood in which he is promenading at the time, and assures for him an Irish reception which is more demonstrative than pleasant. In rapid succession the fun-loving boys are seen in more or less mischievous adventures and funny incidents with various victims. A pompous flat janitor washing his windows is left suspended in midair; an Italian laborer at work on the street is befooled into practically committing an assault upon himself, and a little girl who appears to be friendly with both boys is deprived of her toys, although a reconciliation is afterwards effected, combine to make a panorama of ludicrous situations and laughable events, any one of which has enough comic originality to supply ideas for the ordinary feature subject, and a fight and reconciliation between the boys, which comes near being reproduced by the "two old cronies," but is happily adjusted.

Two Weeks Notice

1 hr 41 mins
Harvard educated lawyer Lucy Kelson, following in the footsteps of her lawyer parents, uses her career for social activism. She hides any sense of femininity behind her work. George Wade is the suave public face of the Manhattan-based Wade Corporation, a development firm that Lucy routinely opposes and whose true head is George's profit-oriented brother, Howard Wade. George, who has a reputation as a lady's man, has had as his legal counsel a series of beautiful female lawyers with questionable credentials, they who have more primarily acted as his casual sex partners. Needing a real lawyer, he offers Lucy the job of his legal counsel on a chance meeting. Despite warnings from her parents in working for the "enemy", Lucy, who has no intention of being the latest in his bed partners, accepts the job as she feels she can do more good from the inside, and as George, as part of the job offer, promises not to demolish a community center in a heritage building as part of a development project near her childhood Coney Island home where her parents still live. Although Lucy is able to effect the type of change she wanted from this position, she finds she cannot deal with George's expectations of her, namely being his primary confidante and advisor at all hours of the day and night, mostly about issues she considers frivolous. As such, she gives him two weeks notice, although she promises to help George find her replacement. As Lucy begins to review resumes, George himself unilaterally decides to hire June Carver, a fellow Harvardite, but who seems to have her sights set on George as both a boss and personal partner. As June begins to replace Lucy in seemingly all aspects of George's life, Lucy begins to realize that she herself has fallen for George. However, Lucy's feelings for George and her attempts to re-ingratiate herself into George's life are placed into jeopardy when she learns of a Wade Corporation decision against her basic sensibilities.

Miss Congeniality 2: Armed & Fabulous

1 hr 55 mins
Because of the notoriety she gained from the Miss United States pageant, Gracie Hart's (Sandra Bullock's) life as an undercover F.B.I. Agent is over. In addition, Agent Eric Matthews (Benjamin Bratt) broke off their relationship. Begrudgingly, on the advice her boss, F.B.I. Assistant Director Harry McDonald (Ernie Hudson), Gracie decides to become the F.B.I.'s media-relations officer. 10 months later, with the assistance of style coach Joel Meyers (Diedrich Bader) and a best-selling book about her experience behind her, Gracie becomes a designer-clad media darling and the made-up face of the F.B.I. The new Gracie is the exact opposite of Agent Sam Fuller (Regina King), a woman who, like Gracie before her pageant experience, has deep-seated anger issues. The two do not get along, but that doesn't stop McDonald from assigning Sam to be Gracie's bodyguard. The two are sent to Las Vegas, Nevada when Gracie's friend, reigning Miss United States Cheryl Frasier (Heather Burns), and long-time Miss United States pageant host Stan Fields (William Shatner) are kidnapped there. At the F.B.I.'s Las Vegas field office, Assistant Director Walter Collins (Treat Williams) wants Gracie to be solely the media spokesperson on the case, but Gracie wants to be back in the field, especially when she uncovers some leads that Collins dismisses. Despite their antagonistic relationship, Gracie and Sam have to work together to follow these leads. Along with them are Joel and insecure F.B.I. Agent Jeff Foreman (Enrique Murciano), the foursome who, in addition to finding Cheryl and Stan, must elude Collins' other Agents, Collins, who wants Gracie and Sam back on a plane to New York City, and who covets the case-solving glory for himself.
