Film tells story of a Saudi family's life across three generations, navigating tension between liberalism and tradition. There's the grandfather, far from being overly conservative, who plays games with his grandchildren, encourages his grandson to make film, and possesses lighthearted and cheerful spirit. The father is open-minded, believing in his daughter's right to education and work, and granting her considerable degree of freedom. There's also the conservative son, who tends towards isolation and wants to marry his sister off to a friend with extremist views. The daughter works for a daily newspaper and begins preparing investigation into group of young people trying to establish a theater troupe, advocating for their right to do so.
