In Walking Through Time (2016), paleontologist Tori Herridge embarks on a journey across Britain to explore the country's prehistoric past. Each episode takes viewers to a dramatically different landscape - from the windswept highlands to ancient coastlines - to uncover geological and evolutionary events that shaped the island. Through CGI reconstructions and field visits, Victoria Herridge narrates events like tsunamis, asteroid impacts, and mass extinctions, attempting to blend science with storytelling. While the premise is strong, the series leans heavily on Herridge's presence and personal reflections, sometimes prioritizing on-camera charisma over substantive exploration. The real stars - the landscapes and fossil stories - are occasionally sidelined in favor of sweeping shots of the presenter thinking out loud. Nonetheless, Walking Through Time offers a scenic and accessible introduction to deep time, even if it occasionally feels more like a platform for its host's growing media profile than a deep dive into geology.
