After Trishna marries her sweetheart, Dr. Aditya Bhargava, she finds out that he used to love Ishita Singhania, the only daughter of a multi-millionaire. She also finds out that her marriage to Aditya resulted in a major trauma for Ishita, who had to be institutionalized for sometime.
