Unzipped: An Autopsy of American Inequality

From the award-winning filmmaking team at GRAiNEY PICTURES, written and directed by Colin K. Gray and executive produced by Lucy Liu, UNZIPPED: An Autopsy of American Inequality is a searing exposé of the growing affordable housing crisis in America. This intimate and often heartbreaking feature documentary focuses one of the country's most iconic and increasingly income divided zip codes, Venice CA 90291. Once a mecca for artists, outsiders and a thriving black community, Venice is now the front line for America's heated battles over gentrification, lack of affordable housing, and homelessness. With moving, personal profiles of several artist families who struggle to remain in their neighborhood, to bitterly contested community fights over a proposed homeless shelter, UNZIPPED explodes stereotypes and humanizes the lived experiences of people caught in the cross-fire of America's growing housing divide. The film also features interviews with leading politicians, local stakeholders, homeless advocates and experts who dig into the root causes of the affordable housing crisis and its intersection with rising income inequality, racial and class disparities and the structural inequities of America's housing policies. A topical local lens on this alarming humanitarian issue, UNZIPPED is an urgent call to action for more equitable housing solutions for every community in America and around the globe. UNZIPPED is produced by The Sibs (Colin K. Gray and Megan Raney Aarons) in association with Ley Line Entertainment, The Nation of Artists, and Still Moving Pictures, and features an original score by Leo Z with tracks from acclaimed rap duo, Run The Jewels (Killer Mike and El-P). The film's diverse production and post production crew includes an all-women producing team, an all-women graphic design team, and over 50% BIPOC Executive Producers.

Miracle

In 1980, the United States Ice Hockey team's coach, Herb Brooks, took a ragtag squad of college kids up against the legendary juggernaut from the Soviet Union at the Olympic Games. Despite the long odds, Team USA carried the pride of a nation yearning for a distraction from world events. With the world watching, the team rose to the occasion, prompting broadcaster Al Michaels' now famous question to the millions viewing at home: Do you believe in miracles? Yes!
