Radha (Roja) lives in her father's house as a maidservant as she is his illegitimate daughter and he does not have the courage to tell his wife the truth. She had been in love with her step-mother's brother Sanjay (Ajith) but on discovering her feelings he tells her he needs time to think. One day two petty thieves, Selvam (Karthik) and his friend enter the house to hide while the elders are away and she places them under 'house arrest' for three days. On releasing them she gives them some advice that convinces them to reform. Due to a misunderstanding Radha is accused of theft and thrown out of the house. Selvam finds a place for her in a hostel and makes many sacrifices in order to make her a famous singer. Finally Radha's family accept her as their daughter and Sanjay is ready to marry her, but who will she choose?
