Sarah can't sleep after her husband's death, and the sounds of footsteps in the attic are no help. She seeks solace in playing her estranged son's guitar, then moves the instrument up to the attic as an offering, hoping her son might be hiding out there. She leaves the house for the first time since the funeral and procures the makings of a Thanksgiving feast in July.
