In 1973, during the Portuguese Colonial War in Africa, a patrol of soldiers encounters a fatal incident. Twelve years later, in 1985 Lisbon, the parents of the fallen soldier travel to visit their younger son and their daughter in law, struggling with unspoken grief and the lingering emotional impact of loss. The film portrays how the past and its wounds shape family relationships and the silent sorrow of a society still processing its colonial legacy.
