Together Brothers Reviews

When a well-liked police officer, Bernard, is murdered, the 15-year-old leader of a Galveston, Texas, gang made up of blacks and Chicanos gathers his buddies to track down the deranged killer. The only witness is the gang leader's 5-year-old brother, and while the killer tries to get him out of the way, the other boys are able to gain enough clues to see that the murderer is put behind bars. Brilliant performances by young, inexperienced actors help make this picture work. Nurradin as the gang leader and Wilson as his younger brother are particularly effective, infusing the story with an energetic intensity. Songs include "Somebody's Gonna Off the Man," "Honey, Can't Ya See" (Barry White, Gene Page, sung by White), "People of Tomorrow Are the Children of Today" (White, Page, sung by the Love Unlimited Orchestra).
