The story of Stasiek - a welder from communist Poland, who in the 1970s goes to America to work in the largest traveling circus in the world to earn money for a better life for his family. Stasiek lives for three years in a cramped train carriage, facing the hardships of emigration and a great longing for his wife and daughters. Sleeping on the train next to elephants, bears and a generator, Stasiek travels through all the states of America. He works setting up arenas for one of the oldest circuses in history - Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus. Stasiek buys a camera and a camera with the first money he earns. He uses it to record a significant part of his stay in the USA, including circus performances, a helicopter flight over New York, and a trip to the newly opened Disneyland.
