Mack and Cliff has been stalling the off the landlady for quite some time, and flitting about the skirts of the subtle vampire with scant success when Mack gets word that a dying uncle is sure to leave him a fortune. He kills off his uncle and accepts a fortune, without waiting for the material event to come to pass. It worked to a charm, even restoring to Mack's arms the lovely Ethel, whom papa had only the other day, compelled to give the mit to Mack. An elopement was planned, and even then Mack was still in a hurry, and coming across a package of money in pa's office, he helped himself to it and he and Ethel started on their merry way. Only Mack chanced to think that he ought to have a suitcase so dropped into his hotel to get one. And there he found Dora waiting so it turned out that he and Dora, and not Ethel, eloped. Ethel wasn't even left at the church, it was worse than that. Mack and Dora are caught in the middle of a big party. Then came a battle which required no drafting or military training. It only ended after Mack had made a get-away and been captured. And the finish? Try and guess what Mack did when he discovered that it was his own money and not stolen goods, which he had squandered on Dora.
