Seeking material for a best-seller, an author travels to South America, accompanied by his attractive secretary. Soon after their arrival, they witness an ancient legend spring to life when a beautiful girl is washed ashore, and then fly up the Amazon with an explorer, seeking a lost tribe. They have many adventures and the men compete for the girl. The explorer wins, the girl, preferring love to luxury, stays behind, and the writer, richer in experience, returns home alone to complete his task.
