Harvey Martin and Helen Williams want to be married, but her mother opposes the union. Larry Simons also desires Helen and tries to discredit Harvey, who then defeats him in a fistfight. While fleeing from her husband, Dorothy Willis and her baby take refuge in Harvey's ranch house during his absence. Upon learning of the situation, Mrs. Williams accuses Harvey of attempting bigamy, and as she and Helen are about to leave, two thugs hired by Dorothy's estranged husband, Robert, break into the house and demand the baby. Harvey fights them off while the three women try to escape. Outside the house, Dorothy is apprehended by Robert and the estranged pair fight savagely for possession of the baby. Mrs. Williams berates them, after which they decide to reconcile. Conversely, Mrs. Williams is impressed with Harvey's honesty and resolve, and permits Helen to marry him.
