A successful novelist; Jason Westmore from New York, fresh from major success from his last novel, is now on hiatus due to personal issues and writers block, nightmares and general confusion. He then goes to a small town in Norway, by suggestion from his editor to reflect, get inspiration and creativity for a novel. When he gets there, he meets locals into some seemingly silly fairy tales that outsiders and some locals just laugh at. After strange markings begin appearing at his cabin in the woods, coupled with strange sounds and the spotting of what looks like a human of some kind, Jason decides to investigate. What he discovers is about to change his life, and bring the town to a halt.
