After committing 22 armed robberies Paul is caught and sent to prison. He soon get a job as the host of the prison radio. Longing for freedom Paul escapes and vowing to become an law abiding citizen. He get's a job at a local radio station where he becomes "The morning man". But the past catches up with him when some old "friends" track him down. They haven't forgotten his past, and neither have John Mailer, a detective who's closing in.
