The Hostages
Joe Blake (Ray Barrett) masterminds a jail break with three other men; however, he falls awkwardly when jumping down from the wall. While two of the prisoners make it to the nearby getaway van, Terry Sladden (Robin Askwith) helps Joe but their slowness spooks the van driver who leaves without them. They make their way slowly to a nearby farm where the farmer, his wife, and elder daughter are just driving off to the cattle market leaving Peter (Stephen Garlick) in charge with his younger sister, Kate (Jayne Collins), and brother, Tim (Peter Marshall). Joe & Terry take the children hostage and force Peter to contact the local doctor. The scene is set for a typical hostage situation.
