Oliver Hardy is heartbroken when he realises that the woman he has fallen in love with, is actually married to a dashing Foreign Legion Officer. To get over his heartbreak, he joins the Legion, taking Stan with him. Their bumbling eventually leads to them being sentenced to death by firing squad, but they manage to escape in a stolen airplane.
