Romance author Jack's publisher booked a small town chalet for him to work quietly as his deadline approaches, and he intends to go for a less superficial novel. Since a death in Christmastide, he hates the jolliness, so packs all seasonal decorations. Alas, it's double-booked by Christmas-loving divorcee Grace, teen daughter Lexi and (grand)mother Helen. As the town is booked out, they agree to live each on a floor, but Jack lets himself be drawn into Helen's good cooking and even more festive things, allowing some Christmas spirit to reemerge while Cupid matches him with Grace.
