When Van Tassel calls at Myrtle's house, Myrtle becomes jealous of his attentions to Rose; and when the girl leaves, Myrtle seeks revenge through Mrs. Van Tassel. The family lawyer, however, induces her to relent, and she renounces her claim, leaving the young couple free to marry.
