In a library in Ahmedabad, India, young artist Inés comes across "Sultana's Dream," a science fiction short story written in 1905 by Begum Rokeya Hossain. The story revolves around Ladyland, a feminist utopia where women possess knowledge and rule the country, while men have no access to education, live in seclusion, and take care of the household. Fascinated by the short story, Inés embarks on a journey through India to search for Ladyland and traces of the author Begum Rokeya Hossain. "Sultana's Dream" criticizes patriarchy, war, industrialization, and the exploitation of natural resources, addressing the problems of our world today in an unexpectedly visionary way.
