Stopped on Track

44-year-old Frank Lange lives with his wife Simone and their two children Lilli and Mika in a terraced house on the outskirts of Berlin. The family has just moved in, the parents have regular jobs and the couple are happy. But when Frank consults a doctor about a headache, he is confronted with a cancer diagnosis: The brain tumor he has discovered is malignant and inoperable. He only has a few months left. Frank uses his smartphone to document the progression of his illness and everyday life with his family. Weakened by the chemotherapy and radiotherapy, he develops delusions in which he sees his personified brain tumor appearing as an interviewee on Harald Schmidt. Frank's body and mind are increasingly impaired; he loses his memory, his sense of direction, control over his bodily functions and finally his ability to speak. His personality also undergoes a change due to the strong medication. The two children have to deal with their father being cared for at home, the rapid deterioration of his condition and his imminent death. They are overwhelmed. Simone also reaches her limits more and more. The dying man and those left behind are confronted with death from two different perspectives. They have to ask themselves different questions and will each experience the time as a test in their own way.
