Spats

"Another a beautiful day at Richland High", whines Skip's best friend after Bruce the head drummer plows into both of them. The majorettes proclaim that they "dress alike and talk alike" as the hierarchy of the high-school cliques is displayed in song and dance. T The outsiders are new majorette Debbie and Skip, a drummer crushed under the leadership of rich, entitled prick Bruce. Bruce's girlfriend Chris is increasingly jealous as Bruce's adoration of Debbie turns to disrespect. But Bruce doesn't care, as he sings with his chorus of toadies: "Demented, demented, we are so demented!. We don't deny that we are so, D. D. Demented, ah ha ha!" On the night of the big dance, Skip finally gets up the nerve to dance with Debbie as they duet on "Stand up for your heart!" Jealous Bruce is infuriated and drags Skip outside, where Skip demands his life and his girl. It results in a fight with a quick finish. Not to be disparaged, a bruised Skip returns to the stage and knocks it out of the park with a killer drum solo. Bruce, fuming, exits stage left, and Skip finally kisses Debbie.
