Years ago, Ewald, now in his mid-forties, ended up in Romania. Now he is venturing a new start. He leaves his girlfriend and moves to an impoverished, rural wasteland, where he and local boys convert a dilapidated school building into a fortress. The children discover a carefree life they never knew before, but it doesn't take long for the villagers to become suspicious. And Ewald has to face a long-suppressed truth.
