When an orphaned Cajun boy accidentally discovers an encrypted pirate treasure map, he enlists the help of his new friends who are visiting their recently widowed grandmother for the summer. They decipher the pirate's code, but are compelled to seek the help of a mysterious Voodoo Queen to translate its message. With the assistance of their grandma, the kids journey through swamps and the N'awlin's French Quarter to discover the key to the treasure, but the transfiguring Voodoo Queen shadows their every move. The Treasure Hunter Squad, as they come to call themselves, unearth the Pirates booty - only to have it stolen by the Voodoo Queen, who leaves them for dead, deep in the hidden catacombs of the French Quarter. Through sheer teamwork and ingenuity, the kids escape the catacombs, and journey back through the dangerous swamp to reclaim what is rightfully theirs. Their odyssey complete, the kids come to realize that the greatest treasure of all - is family.
