When a socially awkward Midwestern woman inherits a San Diego porn studio, she plans to take the money and run back to her reclusive existence, until her dead father and a band of misfits force her to face her fears and learn that misfits are people too. "Skin" is the story of Blanche, a fortysomething product of Minnesota. A would-be writer, she has settled for the quiet, predictable life of a publisher's researcher in Minneapolis. But that's all about to change. "Skin"'s driving force is Blanche's long-lost father Spike, a born entrepreneur who made a small fortune in the L.A./San Diego porn industry. Spike is dead, but that doesn't keep him from guiding Blanche on a strange journey, one chapter at a time, from the DVD he left behind.
