At Stora Björnö there is a great commotion. Skipper Jansson is coming home after sailing around the world. He is rumored to have made a lot of money and found treasure on the Gold Coast. So his old crony Lönnman, with whom he shared many adventures, prepares the welcome celebration by going to the system company in town and getting an extra allotment of brandy. And Skeppar Jansson's greedy relatives, the Sjöblom and Westerlund families, have to quickly guard their interests. They have been feuding with each other for forty years over some deed that no one knows anymore where they belong. Now they are raising an inheritance and despite being stingy and unwilling to pay his living expenses, they plan to invite Jansson to live with them.
