WW II action thriller stars Clements as an R.A.F. pilot, one of three men in love with an admiral's daughter played by Baxter. When he takes a plane up without permission, he crashes, killing Baxter's brother in the process. Court-martialed from the service, he takes a job with a Greek airline on an island crawling with Germans. His mistress, Todd, and best friend, Chapman, are killed, and, in the process, Clements discovers plans to sink an aircraft carrier. He manages to warn his ex-commander, then learns that Baxter has married one of her admirers. Feeling he has one last chance to display his loyalty to his country, he thwarts the Germans' plans by crashing his plane into a strategic dam, which floods out the German post. Clements dies a hero. Superbly staged aerial battles more than make up for the slow-moving plot.
