Rosemarie Nitribitt (Belinda Lee) is a young woman living in West Germany in the late 1950s making a living as a street walking prostitute. One evening, when she's working at dingy bar in Frankfurt, she catches the eye of wealthy old Alexander Volderkoff (Walter Rilla) just as the police raid the place. Claiming Rosemarie is his wife, the elegant Volderkoff sets her up in his apartment, buys her a snazzy convertible sports car, then leaves for France after making her promise that she'll remain faithful. Banking the money he sends her, Rosemarie instead buys herself a chic apartment and drives around the city zeroing in on every middle-aged man she sees, and making more money as a high-class call girl escort. Though Volderkoff eventually breaks up with her, she soon has a thriving business with a wealthy clientele, and even a grumpy housekeeper maid she can boss around. But it all turns inexplicably grim when Rosemarie meets a mysterious stranger on a bridge at night who somberly remarks, "Time is running out on you," before abruptly disappearing. This makes Rosemary wildly paranoid, forcing her into a state of panic before she meets her destiny when lets the wrong person into her apartment.
