Shaolin vs. Manchu
Jouan appears to be a dedicated Volumeiple of Shaolin Temple but is really a Manchu spy. As the favorite to succeed the Temple Master, he cannot stand competition from Rock, a true Volumeiple. So Jouan arranges for a prostitute to be found in Rock's room, thereby causing his banishment. Jouan continues plotting and becomes Master, according to the plan.
