Hawaldar Ashok Shinde while patrolling on night duty at a railway station comes across an abandoned baby boy and takes him to police station due his great work he soon gets promoted and feels that the baby has bought luck for him.Ashok requests his seniors to give the baby to him rather then sending him to orphanage he takes the baby home at first his mother hesitates but later agrees to keep the baby.Few years later he is named Shyam and is taken care with love an affection by Ashok and his mother,Ashok's mother starts looking for brides for him and he comes across Rama a dancer while his mother chooses Sudha for him.But tragedy strikes as Rama is tried to rape by Sakharam Patil following which she flings her self from building leaving her badly hurt around the same time Sudha and her father pass away leaving Ashok's mother in trauma.Rama finds that Ashok saved her life by giving blood to her and after recovering goes to meet his mother who starts to call her daughter in law.In order to save her life Ashok and Rama pretend that they want to marry and eventually fall in love but Rama's mother tells Ashok that Rama has a condition in order to marry her he will have to throw Shyam out of the house.Shyam hears the conversation and leaves the house and starts working at a petrol pump where he comes across Sakaram and starts working for him.
