The Martians have long considered that humans are self-destructive by nature, and they have mostly avoided contact with them. Convinced that humans are about to fight a nuclear war over some petty territorial disputes, and that their nuclear weapons are enough to destroy the entire Solar System, the Martians decide to intervene by launching their own alien invasion in order to prevent the war. A group of Martian women named after Greek goddesses (Afrodita/Aphrodite, Selene, and Artemis) are tasked with using their mind control powers to kidnap specific humans from Mexico City and its suburbs, in order to recruit them to the Martian cause. The superhuman hero Santo fights against the invaders, but he has to face the equally strong Martian fighter Hercules. Santo is, however, convinced that the Martians have a point. Santo pessimistically notes that humanity is perpetually finding deadlier ways to harm itself.
