Jeanne is a middle-aged cleaning lady living in the suburbs with her partner Albert, a night watchman. Her daily life is monotonous and weighed down by overbearing relatives and a son, Julien, who has just been released from prison after getting his girlfriend pregnant. To help Julien reconnect with his love, Annie, and their child, Jeanne is asked to deliver a letter-a seemingly simple task that turns out to be complicated. Throughout this "tough day," Jeanne frequently escapes into her imagination, envisioning herself as a queen, a wealthy socialite, or even a president. These daydreams, inspired by cinema and magazines, mix glamour, absurdity, and occasional nightmares, reflecting her longing to break free from the dullness and frustrations of her daily life. As reality and fantasy intertwine, Jeanne confronts the real-life challenges she faces, ultimately helping her son and finding a measure of peace and reconciliation.
