Inspired by true events - The inspiring tale of a high school basketball team that rises from tragedy to triumph, chasing a dream and claiming the state championship. In the fall of 1984, the small town of Wood Creek, South Carolina was devastated by a gas explosion at the high school. The event changed lives forever. Without a school to attend or gym to practice in, the Boys' Varsity Basketball team continued their season with the hope of uplifting their fellow students and bringing the community together. By rallying around their team, the town of Wood Creek discovered a path to healing and renewal. Drawing on remarkable strength, they began to rebuild their lives in the way they knew best-through the game of basketball.
