Welcome to Penskeegee's 25th Annual POP-U-larity singing contest! As the winner, you take home $1,000, a full year's supply of fried chicken - but most importantly - you become Penskeegee's most POP-U-lar person! Join us as Katrina Whitman, Penskeegee's most POP-U-lar person for four years in a row, competes to retain her coveted title and strives to break the all time record for most consecutive wins. A competition favorite, this rising star already has her own gay following (all the great Divas do), cultivated by her loyal assistant Sebastian. Celebrity host Marcellas Reynolds from the hit reality television series "Big Brother" takes us on an electrifying journey as we follow our eccentric, and sometimes talented performers, all striving for their chance to be POP-U-lar. This year's competitors include housewife Marcia Anderson whose past performances with her son Danny was always a delight for the audience. This year, Marcia broadens her artistic talents as she accepts her sweet little boy, now known as Darque (that's Dark, with a 'q'), and watches him transform into a provocative and edgy performance artist. We have Charlene Hornsby, an introverted cowboy and first time competitor, as she gains confidence from her faithful friend, Beth - a horse - and embarks on a spiritual journey with her new age musical therapist, Celeste. Then there's Ness, the dark and brooding sidekick, who becomes inspired to break free from her oppression and bring love and light into the world by making her fantasies come to life. Our contestants come from all walks of life and some from no walks of life. Each performance is as unique as the package it comes in. Because whatever they decide to do... There's no wrong way to be POP-U-lar!
