The documentary film 'poco a poco' follows human rights observers on their journey to Zapatista communities in the Chiapas region of Mexico, and documents their work, findings and difficulties during their stay. Through people on-site we get to know more about the Zapatista movement, their fight for human rights, democracy and dignity and the actual human rights observation itself. The conflict between the indigenous and the non indigenous population of the region has been going on for hundreds of years. Along with the growth of capitalism, there is little consideration for humanity. The film reflects the longing and desire for a fairer, just life for all of the inhabitants of the Chiapas region and furthermore for people all over the earth.
