Former professional footballer Paul Merson describes his battle with gambling addiction, from the millions of pounds he has lost, taking in part in a brain imaging study revealing how only gambling gives him pleasure, to a meeting of people whose lives have been torn apart by the gambling induced suicide of a loved one. The programme raises the important question that ultimately bookmakers are knowingly profiting from people that are ill with gambling addition for which the results of their actions can be catastrophic.
