Set in the city of Kuala Lumpur, Fung feels trapped in a family that does not love or respect her. Her mother in law, Nai Nai, is persistently complaining and nagging to her about how she is unable to live up to being a good daughter in law; and her husband Keong has lost complete interest in her. Fung finds out that she is pregnant and is afraid about bringing up her child in a world where she has no self-esteem. She meets Jennifer, a single mother, and is inspired to take a risk for her and her child to have a better life.
