Shortly before her brother Elías (Atli Óskar Fjalarsson) disappears without a trace, young bank employee Kristin (Vivian Ólafsdóttir) receives a video clip showing him with an old plane wreck in the Icelandic ice. Apparently, he and his friends have made a sensational discovery: The wreck turns out to be a German plane from World War II that had been lost for decades and has now been exposed by the melting of the glacier. No sooner has Kristin digested this discovery than a ruthless killer (Wotan Wilke Möhring) shows up at her apartment and tries to kill her. She narrowly escapes the attack and seeks help from her ex, British history lecturer Steve (Jack Fox). He's not quite sure what to make of the unexpected reunion, as Kristin had actually given him the boot rather abruptly. But he's still interested in the tough beauty, and even more so in the historical find she has to report. During their joint investigation, the two discover that CIA expeditions have repeatedly visited the glacier over the past decades in an attempt to find the wreck and its mysterious cargo. Apparently without success, but accompanied by mysterious deaths. While the killer repeatedly tracks down Kristin and Steve and puts their lives in danger, the two receive help from Icelandic farmer Einar (Ólafur Darri Ólafsson), who is skilled with firearms and snowmobiles. But Simon's ruthless boss William Carr (Ian Glen), who is leading the recovery operation on the glacier, is not amused. He uses Kristin's brother as a bargaining chip to get his hands on the mysterious find from the wreck.
