Becoming a policewoman in the early 1970s was usually nothing more than a dream. For Siggi Thieme, however, it's a dream come true, since she's one of the first young women to be accepted as a police trainee in Bremen. The next obstacle is telling her friends, family and fiancé - and this is where the going gets tough. While her fiancé begins to lose his leading role in her life, her dad - himself a policeman - simply doesn't believe she can handle both her job and her private life .
