He Died with His Eyes Open

Inspector Staniland as always tries to put himself in the place of the victim, this time an unsuccessful pianist. That is when the victim's mistress Barbara enters the apartment: "looks like a real bitch that one", thinks the inspector. Surprised by his presence, she accuses herself of the crime. But the inspector is not convinced because everything does not fit all well in her confession and specially the tone she uses to do so. In his investigation, Staniland finds himself in trouble with a man who is protecting Barbara. Supposed to be her brother, isn't he? And can you refuse a girl like her even if you are a policeman.
